Natural gas

Where utility natural gas is available, it offers a continuous supply without an on-site storage tank. Homeowners do not need to schedule fuel deliveries, but the meter, regulator, and piping must provide adequate pressure and volume when other gas appliances are operating.

A gas utility interruption is uncommon in many areas but remains possible. Output ratings may also vary by fuel, so the selected model's specifications must be checked.

Propane

Propane is stored on the property, making it useful for rural homes and locations without natural gas. It gives the owner a visible fuel reserve, but runtime is limited by tank size, fill level, generator demand, temperature, and other propane appliances.

Choose fuel as part of the whole system
